VCU Building Access and door locking schedules are at the sole discretion of the sponsoring department. Building access privileges are generally granted to students at the department's request prior to the start of classes. Typically, a professor or dean will explain how and where those privileges can be used. If your card is replaced, all prior access privileges will automatically transfer.

VCU Health building access can be requested by contacting the VCU Medical Center Security Operations team at(804) 828-4300.
Request VCU Building Access
VCU Building access can be requested by a Professor, Building Manager, or Supervisor - students can not request building access.
Authorized personnel can submit a ticket to request access changes to their building through the IT Support Ticket System. You must know your eID and password to use the online ticket system. Please read the Customer IT Support Portal guide for detailed instructions using the ticket system.
Campus Card Services provides Biometric Fingerprint Enrollment service to the Athletics Department for building access to on campus athletic facilities. This service is typically requested upon the arrival of new athletes or athletic employees. Only a coach or athletic administrator can request this service.
VCU Building Access refers to buildings that are centrally supported on the CBORD Access Control System. Make sure you are submitting the appropriate request by reviewing the list of CBORD Access Control Buildings.
Please contact your Residential Assistant, Administrative or Security Office in your dorm for building access. Please contact Residential Life and Housing for dorm-related issues.
Only a coach or athletic administrator can submit a ticket through the IT Support Center for Biometric Enrollments. The ticket will be routed to Campus Card Services and then assigned to a staff member.
Navigate to: Accounts & Access > Access Control Management > Building Access > Biometric Fingerprint Enrollment
In the description box, list the Full Name and eID of the athlete/employee needing fingerprint access
In the special instructions box, click on the Biometric Appointment Link to schedule a date and time the athlete/employee would like to visit our office to register
Please be sure to enter the correct email address for the athlete/employee so that they will receive an email confirmation, calendar invitation and additional instructions
In the IT Support Ticket, click Submitat the bottom of the page
To check for status updates after the ticket has been assigned, click Ticket History from the IT Support landing page.
